water drain question

right now my pump and drain are maintaining and even flow (what comes in comes out ) but I would like more water to filter transport if I get a bigger pump will it over flow the tank or will the drain match the pump ?

Depends on how many GPH your drain can handle. What type of drain are you using? What return pump are you using and whats the vertical distance between that pump and the return on the tank?

Question. How many gph does your skimmer do?

Also, how many gph are you getting from your return right now?

If the answer to the above question matches, then there is no point in having more flow through your sump.

If you have water blasting through you sump, your skimmer become way less efficient.
