What are hardiest corals

I have a beam works double bright led, does anyone have any feedback about that light or brand and would it work for some hardy corals
Enough light I mean because ideally want a FOWLR but I might put few corals in
Thanks guys

You could keep some shrooms, maybe some leathers. Nothing that requires high lighting. You have a FOWLR light for sure. You could potentially keep any non-photo coral, but if you plan on FOWLR, you are most likely not going to have the most pristine water quality (i.e., nitrates, phosphates, etc.). If you are, you might as well go reef if you're making the effort, and if that's the case, better lighting.

I'm a believer in the One or the Other, not Both aquarium. Either do corals, or don't, don't try and make a tank that could kinda do both, cause it's not worth it. JMO

I've read this thread and I too am interested in starting out with some corals. I am currently keeping a 55g FOWLR tank setup. Anymore advice about corals? I will be transitioning to a reef tank sometime in the future. I'm just looking at my options.

Thanks

How good are the beam works double bright LEDs
I've heard mixed and I'll end up leaning towards reef

If ur thinking reef. Sell it. Recoupe some cost and buy a higher output light. Good corals to start with are shrooms, xenia, some leathers, some zoas, palys, gsp, and many others. That light might work on a shallow tank.

Kenya trees and zoas will NOT grow under anything. Both species rely primarily on photosynthesis for sustenance, not spot feeding. Certain types of leather trees actually require very high lighting, and kenya trees require medium to high lighting.

Don't put any coral under low light conditions, even if its xenia. Just because it can survive doesn't mean its ok. They are still living creatures, and we should be responsible about them.

I still have the 48inch light has 2 metal halides and 4 compacts you can keep all kinds of corals under this light i will do $60 for you just because i feel bad you bought that bs light

That's a really good deal. Even if there aren't any bulbs! I wish someone was that generous for me! lol Great way to pay it forward.
