Here are my newest tests results. My tank is about 150 gal total volume. Sps dominated with some lps and no softies. I waited to get good coralline growth before adding coral and it has been rocking ever since. I'm starting to get pretty full on coral and wondering when I will have to start dosing. I only use kalk at this time. My parameters have been rock solid until now. My alk is down a little and so is pH. I also tested right whn my lights were going off.

I need better kits for phos and nitrates but I have a nice fuge and running gfo. No algea. Tanks is clean. I have had no coral losses since one sps in the beginning. Have no idea why just got rtn took it out. Other then that I have added and growing over 40 sps and 10 lps all doing great.

I'm wondering about the alk coming down some. I'm using the kalk reactor through my ato. Should I dump it and add new. I haven't tested in a month so maybe it's just leveling out. Also. how do u kknow when u should start a dosing schedule with the kalk. Thanks everyone.
 
From what I've heard kalk reactors return water that is too saturated with Kalk. Putting a small amount of kalk in the water reservoir of youu your ATO system is better since you have more control over the saturation and you are a lot less likely to overdose.
 
They say to dose kalk at night or the time frame when lights are out..

I hope you have a control unit to montior the PH and control the dosing..

But you should test frequent until you reach your happy levels :D

no it wont over dose. the kalk is just stirred up 4 times a day for 15 mins. that way the water is saturated. it just runs throught the ATO. so just returns the water that evaperates. i was more thinking about when my need for cal and alk gets higher should i start dosing two part. i found the answers though. im wondering if maybe im getting close and thats why my alk is down or maybe my tank is just stabalizing and my alk will just run right there.
