About half the diamater of a dime, mostly clear, near the middle may have a redish hue,the little dots do glow in actinic light ... does retract when touched... what is this thing?

google glass or ball anemone. Probably want to try to eliminate that guy. Might also be a sponge or a rock/crucifer nem which is good. If it retracts and you did't put it in, it's likely to be a pest though

You said white balls....

These guys live in my external overflow and in my sump, never given me a reason to remove them. They form little communities and keep to themselves for me.
