What the heck is this?

Only moves at night. Wife said it has a long string or tail that moves. Its the oval, ribbed thing on the lighter coloed rock.

What is it?:questionmark:
 
I have bright pink ones in my tank. I remember seeing pretty large ones in a tidal pool on the Atlantic side of St Lucia. Impossible to remove, they brace well for turbulance!
 
Chiton! Lucky man, that's awesome! Never seen pink ones, would love to have some of those in my tank.... Oh, and don't try and force it off its spot if it latches down... doing that will just kill the creature before you get it to release.
