When messing with the tank......

So usually the evenings and sometimes late night is best for me to do things with the tank. Kids sleep. Things chill. And I'd be down for doing stuff to the tank late night but I tend to stay away from messing with it late night cause the lights are out and I don't wanna bother the fishies at night. I'm wondering if its a stresser if let's say at midnight I felt like rearranging some rock or something and turn the tank light in to do that. Good idea or bad idea?

I think it'll stress them out, because they're now used to a lighting schedule. The fish might also look at it as an ambush at night.

+1 I will do it when lights are on.. But if any major remodeling needs to be done.. I rather do it when light's 1st come on and have a nice bucket ready for a WC.. This will make me keep an eye on things all day!

Also it's not good to have your hands in the tank all the time and for your skin...lol!! So try to avoid as much as possible

i think its much less stressful at night honestly, yea they scurry around in fear. but they dont even know wats going on, just another shark attack to them. this was until i stabbed myself on my LSU, now i do it wen lights first coem on so the nems are smaller and easier to work around

i agree with when the light first come on too. that way you stir up all the hidden food and the corals get to eat early and have time to open back up for the next round of feeding. also if your going to da a water change after, you stir up all the detrius and will have a more efficent water change
