When to start and what to buy

Ok guys and gal's my 105 has been running a week now I was wondering when I should start running either gfo for Bio pellets and carbon what reactors do you guys recommend I have a two little fishies and I don't really care for it as it clogs up very easy on my current setup. I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get setting this thing up to run as efficient as possible I don't want to go into this one blind like I have with my other tanks.

So please help walk me threw b4 it's to late.
 
I don't know about starting with biopellets. I think it is a crutch for overfeeding. When you run biopellets, you concentrate the beneficial bacteria in the medium rather than the rock, sand or fuge. Your bacteria levels are roughly the same because it is dependent on the nutrient level. If the bacteria goes of line for some reason, the main system will have a sudden ammonia spike. I don't mind running carbon and gfo from the start. Because rock can constantly be purged of phosphates and whatever build up of inorganics or metals it nay have. Obviously, dosages required are a small fraction of a fully stocked tank.
