Where do you get your GFO and/or carbon?

My GFO is from BRS and carbon from a seller on Amazon. I was thinking about trying out new suppliers so I wanted to know where other reefers were getting their supplies.
 
I started using Aquaforest carbon only because BRS Rox is sooo small that it's a PITA to use. Aquaforest is nice pellet nice. I get mine from DrsFosterAndSmith whenever they have coupons.
 
I had gotten the high capacity gfo from a reefer and when that ran out i started using regular gfo from brs.
But i actually like phosguard more than gfo. Fgo gets exhausted too quick and the high capacity gfobisbusually out of stock
 
I use high capacity GFO from BRS, but I only change it every three months or so, probably longer. I only run carbon (BRS) from time to time, but I notice that I get STN when running it. I'm not totally sure that is the cause, but it seems to go hand in hand. Therefore, I don't really use carbon except passively in a bag and for only a few days at a time. Probably just a a BS theory in my head.

Victor, I got some new GFO (few bags 2-3 not sure) for you free. This the same with BRS but not from BRS. You can have them and try see you like it or not..I am done with GFO. I can bring to downtown Chicago if you there next week.
 
Yea that high capacity gfo is the way to go. Sucks having to wait for it to go instock but changing it every 2 months or so is the best method. The reason i dont like reg gfo is that it if the flow is too slow it clumps up(my reactor is tied to my sump and detrious gets sucked into the reactor clumping it much more quicker), and if its to fast it gets exhausted and breaks up making it go into the water. I know the flow has to be just right.

With phosguard i just open the valve and let it flow at its rate...i change my phosguard pellets monthly. Has been working great

Im not trying to change anyones mind on gfo and ive heard of the aluminium comments with phosguard i rinse the oellets and drain the first quart of water flow into a bucket prior to placing the return hose into my sump.
