Which Dry Rock to Get?

So I'm currently looking at setting up a new system, and this time I plan on doing pure dry rock and let it do a long cycle. My question is what dry rock should I get? I've been looking at a few different providers, and don't know which one has the nicest looking rock.

The three I've been looking at are:

BRS Bulk Fiji Dry Rock - $134.99
Reefcleaners Florida Reef Rock - $90
Marcorocks Key Large dry rocks - $109

All 3 companies selling rock in bulk 50 lb packages, with prices varying from $90-135. Has anyone ordered any of these rocks before? Or know of any great places I can buy a lot of bulk rock for cheap?

I mainly want to know if the price differences are worth it or not.

I used Caribsea Life rock, couldn't be happier with the filtration (very porous) or the look.

I ordered from marcorocks for my biocube 29 and their stuff is excellent! You should get one of their mortar kits too for your aquascaping needs. It's really easy to use and it bonds super strong. I tried to break apart two rocks that I had bonded because I wanted to go another route and the rock broke before the mortar did!

A very interesting test done by BRS.

If the budget allows id suggest getting some tonga to elevate whichever rock you decide on. It will allow for flow under the rocks keeping detritus from collecting around the base of your rocks

The good thing is dry rock weigh far less than wet rock . I like shapes that are stackable to make caves . Base rock can be anything but it all depends on the look you want .

Reefrocks.net hands down winner Karl, I'm telling you that is what's up. Tell them what shapes you want, they will cut flat pieces and give you large or small or random. Free shipping is nice also.

I like the Walt Smith Reef Rock. Very stackable and color is great. One box comes with different shapes like big boulders, flat ones, arch ones, etc. I ordered the 55lbs box and only used half for the scape below. Rest is in garage.

I like to look at the rocks before I buy. Therefore, I buy mine from New Fish. They have a nice big shelf full of rocks and I think it's is something like $2. I like to dig through and pick out the really porous and interesting shaped rocks.

I've thought about doing this too. May have to check out aquapros one of these days. I know they usually have a nice selection.

Sent you a PM with prices. I have 400 lbs of dry reef Florida rock you can pick and choose pieces to make an aquascape on the cheap in Hickory Hills.
