Who hates hermits.

Ok my hermits are just hanging out on my sps. And I hate it. The polyps don't even close now. Like they are used to it. But I still hate it. And I want to get rid of my hermits. What's people's opinions on that. Right now I only have astsrea snails.

Can I pull all the hermits and just put them in my frag tank. Obviously they will do it there to so in the future theywill be sold .

I don't have any algea in my dt now should I get other types of snails.

And is it a bad idea to keep hermits in my fuge? Will they eat my chaeto or keep it nicely pruned.
 
You need them to keep things clean.. Mine always clean my SB after feedings.. But they will knock down my frags... Grrrr!!
 
Hate them hermits. I let my wrasse or pistol shrimp eat them lol.. Only keep snails or shrimp/wrasses as my cuc
 
Reefcleaners sells CUC packs without crabs. Check out their recommended crews. I personally dont mind keeping a few small hermits because they get into crevices to clean and they eat off whatever dies in my tank better than snails
 
Besides munching on a snail from blue moon to blue moon they aren't that bad. You should see my emerald, loves crawling in the sps once lights are out.
