Why do zoas melt?

So u started to frag a couple of my zoas and out of my 4 frags i made 2 survived.. They were all doing fine and then the other two just all of a sudden started to shrivel up and boom dead..

Can anyone shed some light on why they melt out like that..

Do you reuse the same blade?

For this batch yes i did? Should i change out the blade or clean it up everytime i frag a piece?

I think it depends on the type too. Some are harder than others...

I use a new blade after going heavy washing 1st... They are cheap!! But rust will melt them also..

Oh ic.. Ok will buy a pack of those.. I just fragged my magician Zoas and my red people eaters one of each survived.. So not a complete loss

Maybe there was residual oil on the blade from packaging?
