I'm currently running 6x39w t5's on my 65g tank (36x18x24) and wanted to know if that would be good enough to have a clam on my sand bed. Also is there a specific one I should start with seeing I have never had one before

I think it would be fine maybe start with a deresa or a squamosa clam ive noticed they do very well in sand with piece of rock below it in sand if you dont wanna see the rock doesnt have to be big piece i have a maxima that is happy holding on to a snail shell lol give it a while before you give other species a shot imo all would be fine tho

What kind of fixture do you have? If you have fixture with individual reflectors and good bulbs like ATI than it will be enough light for clams.Start with deresa clams, they are easier and need less light than maximas and croceas.
