WP40 first impression.

Over all pump looks and feels decently built, was very happy that it held threw my 3/4 inch acrylic. very simple to assemble pretty much plug and play.

NOW when I put one of the two I bought in my 72x30x24 tank holy crap this thing pumps some serious water, had a beautiful 2 inch wave back and forth. When I put the second one at the other end of the tank OMG my jaw hit the floor!! These two pumps alone are more than enough for this going to be sps tank. If I didn't have euro bracing water would be every ware.

SETTING: I have the pumps about 8-9 inches below the water line, set on W1 with the knob set at the 2 o'clock position. And it is a hurricane in my tank.

LIGHT SENSOR: On my set up the light sensors work perfectly I have no problems with the pumps turning completely off. I really like this feature.

MODES: All the modes cover every flow option you could want IMO so A+ from me there.

COMPARISON: To the MP40 and Tunze 6100... Blows them away again IMO. WAY more flow the either of them and extremely quiet. AND for the price of a WP40 wow!

DURABILITY: idk will find out in time :)

Mine is no louder than a koralia 4 that is running constantly. I have played with MP-40 and I still think this pump makes less noise. I agree it isn't the same thing but from a noise standpoint I don't hear it ramp like a vortech. I think a big part is obviously the motor isn't hanging outside the tank :)
 
the real test will be how long they last, I suspect the durability will be about the same as a Koralia, but only time and proper maint will tell. however, for what it does, very good bang for your buck from what I've seen/read.
 
Installed mine today. Kinda big but works great quiet powerful and light sensor works :) still bought extra just in case. All in all cool toy for the tank even if it last a year think its worth the money
