Yogo's Angler Tank

So, this is a little late since the tank is up and running.

Angler tank is a 46 bowfront. Just one koralia nano and a Tetra EX70 HOB filter with regular carbon and purigen. I don't want the anglers getting blown around :)

About 40 lbs of LR and black sand and current lighting is one strip of Panorama Pro LED because I had it lying around.

I may get a decent sized dragon sleeper goby to keep the sandbed clean, but other than that, this is just for anglers.

I keep a 2 gallon stocked with gut loaded ghost shrimp for food. Whatever the anglers don't get, the starfish eventually does lol.

Are they the same size? Anglers can eat another fish the same size as themselves. I hope 1 doesn't' swallow the other.

The striated is actually bigger by a decent amount, but they just walk past each other. From most of what I've read mixed with what I've seen, anglers tend to leave anglers alone for the most part. I know there's always the chance, but I'll take it.

Several times I have seen them standing on each other in a corner. They don't seem to mind.

Wow that angler I picked up for ya looks better in your tank, than the one it was in at the store! ! HAHAHA
LOOKS GREAT BUDDY!

Thanks all. The common angler actually is never the same color for more than a few minutes. Every time he touches a new rock he immediately changes to that color. And he hung out on the sand overnight once, and was jet black in the morning. Didn't last very long, but it was awesome.

I'm hoping to get video of them eating in the next week or two. It's a ton of fun to watch with the lures shaking and whatnot.

Sweet setup! My son wanted a wartskin, but changed his mind once he realized it would be his only fish. I love anglers! Do you feed them mollies?

Looks great! I am thinking one but worry about feeding training. I wonder how fast they adopt to frozen food. If it's not hard I may get one.

I'm not going to try and feed frozen. Much easier to just drop ghost shrimp into the tank and since I had a 2 gallon beta tank I can keep a lot at a time for a while with a sponge air filter.

But, since I only have anglers, its much easier for me to do that.

Sad day yesterday, my striated angler somehow gulped some air and it got stuck in his gills. I tried to rub it out, but it suffocated.

Past the sadness, I have a couple videos of eating, and the first one of the angler using his lure, which is really neat, lol. And of my starfish cruising along the glass while Jude stares and asks jibberish questions, lol.

I apologize they're not the best, these were all iphone videos lol.
