Yogo's DIY plywood/combination tank

So, after a hiatus and getting some stuff in order, its time to start planning things out.

I would like to do an 8' by 2' by 3' tank, which would fit the space I have perfectly, and the wall it will back up to goes into the crawl space for sump/fuge space.

So, the question I have is, would a plywood with two 4' viewables be a better bet? Maybe take a 120 tank and use the glass panels to make a longer tank and build around it? I'm new to the custom build, and am looking for guidance and structure help.

And it's good to back :)

I appreciate the kudos, but where's some help? lol

Josh, where did you get your acrylic? Did they do glass as well? I'd rather an 8' straight section that's 3' tall but don't wanna break the bank, hence why I might settle on the 120 glass sizes.

Price to beat is $2,000 compared to glasscages.com for an all glass with oak stand.

I would assume plywood is cheaper. I've seen a custom cut glass of 94"*26" go for $400, which is the most expensive piece anyway.

That sounds like an amazing tank!

I don't know anything about actually building one. I do have a friend that built a holding tank in his basement out of plywood. 8x4x4. He has a couple 24"x 24" port holes in each side and the interior is some sort of fiberglass resin. I could ask him for more info.
