Went to HD to get some JB Waterweld found this next to it for a dollar less (around 4 bucks). It is NSF rated for potable water, specifically references "safe for fresh or salt water", cures dry or wet, and most importantly; it's rock colored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (also note; I used about half the stick today and have no skimmer issues at all yet)

For fragging: Still a bigger fan of the regular old superglue gel over the CorAffix (CorAffix is the better value though). the gel is just slightly thicker and therefore easier to work with.

Thoughts, arguments?

I use the Superglue gel all the time.. But afraid to try JB weld :what:

Might give this one a try now..

Thanks!

I found that those plumbing puttys are only good in very large amounts, with very porus rocks and able to adhere corals and plugs of specific shapes and coarseness. For me it's Cyanoacrylate all the way. If I have to stick rocks together, I drill and use rods, for anything else I use a crap load of the gel. I just got the big Coraffix 295ml bottle and have only managed to go through about a 1/5th of it in 4 months.

I recently used JB Weld's putty and it was garbage. It fell off the rock and I threw it out. Now, for their 2-part stuff...that stuff is the best. My aquascape is held together by it. It's how I was able to create my ledge and to float my rocks.

That shizzle sets off the skimmer like nobody's bizness.... I've used it to make a fake urchin for my Bangaii's...

I wouldn't recommend using JB weld, You really don't know what in there.... I would stick with reef safe 2 part epoxy and if you really want it to stick to rocks use in conjunction with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue)... I personally prefer the Ecotech Coral Glue, I have found that you don't have to use as much and I haven't had a bottle plug or dry out on me yet :)
