New collection today...:)

No luck here..stress split then easy to die..scary

I was told changes in tank does cause a split. Youve cofirmed it for me :/ mines been pinching and pinching but no split. I keep checking on it.
Im your opinion how often does a split die off?

This is second split for me in the SPS tank. The first split is another nem in other tank..So no idea.

@maida

Is that the same one from earlier in the week?
Might be trying to jump ship.
In the 1st photo. The dark spots, normal?

Edit. Idk how to do that cool fancy @hotlinkname thing.

What dark spot..the same nem and split by 3 :)

Dark spots on the arms. Closes to sand bed.
Sometimes when a nem splits its because its stressed out either enviroment or changes in tank. Might be threatened and leaves a seed or a clone and the new one is the dominant and leaves the "original" to suffer through what ever it was.

Regardless some reefers dont want 6 of the same nem in a tank. Or size wise looks odd.

So after venom. Mines on the next page right?

Good luck Mai! From my short expereince with them, feeding too much can make them move further into a bad spot. Everytime I've had one that wasn't happy and I've feed it regularly to try and help it to recover, they just have moved further into a dark spot. BTA are more complex than a lot of people say, they can be challenging to figure out what they need if they're not happy.

Thanks Josh. I didn't know that..I will stop feed them then..let see and hope they are OK..I don't want it split..Oh well happen..

I'm not a verteran with the nems yet, still just a noob. Instead of force feeding them, I am now leaving them alone. If they move themselves into a dark spot, I'll carefuly loosen their foot and move them back into the low light and let them heal themselves. I have had to move one blood nem into a holding pen to keep it in the light because it kept moving into the dark. Since putting it in the pen, it has gotten bigger and stronger all by itself.

What kind of pen is it? May I ask? Thanks Josh. All the nem in my Softies Tanks, one split and next to the mom never move. ALl happy..This one was stress and split. :(

Yes, no problem asking. I took one of these;

Then drilled 20+ holes in each end of it and all along the bottom, just to allow for water flow. I then hung it on the inside of the tank. You can see it in this post, last picture.
