Ok so first off I promise to update this thread more than my last one. I got lazy cause I wanted to upgrade my tank. Ok so on 4-6-12 I will be picking up my 65g reef ready tank and stand by all glass aquariums courtesy of Mr. Matt Crooks. I will using most of my equipment from my 40 as well as some new things. Here's an equipment list please make any suggestions you have.

65 gallon reef ready aga tank black trim 36Lx18Wx24H
36x18 aga black stand
Bubble Magus nac3.5 cone skimmer
29g aga tank with .25" acrylic baffles skimmer>>return<<refugium(dsb LR rubble and cheato)
Mag 7 return pump or similar(I don't have this yet)
Tek light 6x39w (front blue plus blue plus purple plus coral plus blue plus blue plus back)
2 brs deluxe reactors one carbon one gfo ( I have one right now)
I have a 250w heater but I don't think that's big enough I think I need to go with a 300w or 2 150 or 200w heaters
2 Koralia Evolution 1050's

I plan on bringing over all of my corals and some of my current fish and then adding to it. I'd like to have a mixed reef with some sps and mostly lps zoas softies a bta or two and a clam. Here's a stocking plan.

Current stock from 40 going into 65
various zoas softies and lps
One B&W occelaris clown male
One reg occelaris clown female
Lawnmower Blenny
Scarlett skunk cleaner shrimp
Various hermits and snails
tiger sand conch
red fromia starfish

What I'd like to add

Purple pseudochromis
some type of goby and pistol shrimp pair or perhaps a jaw fish
Flame angel
clam
Rbta
Kole tang??? Is this feasible liveaquaria says minimum 70 gallons and my total volume will be about 80-85 gallons??

I'm looking at getting 75lbs of either Marco dry rock or brs Fiji dry rock and 80lbs of caribsea argonite special grade reef sand.

Let me know what you all think. Pictures to come in the next week or so as I get started.

Wow, can I borrow your time machine? I wanna go back a month and place a few bets...

Place a few bets on what???

And your over flow can keep up with the flow from the 9.5? Isnt it like 750gph at 5' head??

Surprising but yes it keeps up well....I went of what a store put together for me they also installed it and works fine so i don't mind it lol

Hmmm that's interesting and I thought megaflow overflows were only rated at 600gph. They probably just say that number to stay on the safe side.

Any one have any thoughts or advice on my proposed setup??

Here's a shot of the tank full of water no leaks cleaning the inside of the tank with vinegar and water and then rinsed really well.

And here's a top down of the overflow.

Oh I do a lot it looks so much nicer than my other one. Question, it looks like someone cut the center brace out and near the front and back there is still some of the tab from the center brace remaining. Should I make two screen tops one for each side or make one and try to notch it so it will fit flush with the top trim?

Big thank you to Crooks for the tank. He also GAVE me a working mag7 he had laying around and a frag of what I think he called red people eaters? He has quite the impressive setup and he is a great guy. Its really astonishing to me to see there are people out there willing to help someone the way he has helped me. Thank you Matt!

It looks great! I think your going to have more than enough light! Keep us posted on the progress!

Yeah lightwise I think ill be good I have that Tek light over my 40 for the time being and its an insane amount of light I might have to start issuing sunglasses to the fish. Lol.
