We are proud to present our very first featured reef here on ChicagoReefs.com. This stunning tank belongs to Patrick Dunne (NewSchool04). I have seen this reef in person and coral colors are absolutely amazing. Please click on the image to read an in depth writeup of his current reef. Please post all comments on this thread.

Patrick has also offered to donate an SPS frag pack to the CR Community!!!Stay tune for that.

180 gallon SPS Dominated Reef tank

Congrats, Pat! I've always admired your talent for keeping corals, decorating your tank perfectly & your resiliency to bounce back from complete tragedy (more than once)!

love the T5 color choices, pretty similar to the colors I had when i ran 6 bulbs on my 30 gallon tank.

Thank you for the kind comments.

You've seen the good, the bad and unfortunately the sad Jeni. We must all be complete knuckleheads to keep this up!

Congrats Patrick, you've been very helpful to me and many fellow reefers.Wonderful tank and thanks for being an exemplary reefer.

congrats Pat! your tank is beautiful. it's a nice reminder, for me, of how all of the new gadgets and gear that's always coming out is not necessary for maintaining a great tank. It all boils down to the basics and getting that part right...

Thanks tenvibes and yes, the basics are definitely where it's at. Mastering your tank chemistry before getting into all the new add on and fixes will save a bunch of heart ache.
