I doubt theres anything like instant results. I try to tell some of my family that the only instant thing there is, is coffee.
But yea. Youre looking at around 2 weeks to see something. Then work from that if you like results or make changes.
The dry spots are probably flow issues. The problem being that your feeding water from below to a higher point. Lets say for example if your supply was coming from a higher point would naturally increase flow. Im thinking if say you placed the sump lower....or the manifold higher then being in the table from what i remember.
I usually run my finger by the dead spots to start a flow path when i 1st started. I also had to make the slot alittle wider and the flow was great.
