Our CC-120 features the exact same LEDs as our full spectrum PAR38 series bulbs. Including a combination of cool and neutral white LEDs.

They use only one power plug, and use two knobs on top of the fixture to manually dim the white and blue channels. Get whatever color you want! Blue all the way up, and white all the way up is about 18k. Blue all the way up and white about 3/4 of the way looks just like our 20k bulbs. White all the way up and blue about 3/4 of the way looks just like our 14k bulbs.

An LCD screen on the front of the unit includes a built in timer that will control each of the two channels on and off times, so there is no need for additional plugin timers.

Thanks guys. Glad you are happy with your fixtures. Your reviews also echo the responses I have received from every single customer who has purchased this light across the country. Not a single unhappy customer yet :)

Thanks again for your continued support!

Curious about the same question fwadiver asked? I have a few nice mileage checks coming up and I am looking for new lights. Lastly do you allow local pickups?

what leds are on these, cree? epistar/bridgelux?

We use a few different manufacturers. The reason being is that for all of our full spectrum lights, we searched for manufacturers that produced diodes which peak at the very specific spectrums we specify. Our blue and white chips are Bridgelux, cyan and red are edison, and true violets are tekcore.

I'm surprised Dre hasn't chimed in yet. Helped him build the hanging kit for this light and dial in the channels to the perfect color setting. Is a fantastic light fixture for the price. Perfect for any reef 6" to 26" tall.

Whats the optics on these and can u buy without optics?

They come with 90 degree optics standard. You could special order a custom fixture for the same price with whatever optics you want, or no optics at all. However special orders will take approx 2-3 weeks for you to receive, and need to be pre-paid.

Seen these in person and they look awesome. How many of these fixtures would be needed on a 40b?

40b are a bit tough. Each fixture gets approx. 24" x 30" of spread at the recommended 8-10" above the water. So, placing one at that height will give you some 3" of dimmer lit areas on the left and right. Now, you can raise the fixture up a bit higher, and would be able to achieve a wider spread that would cover the tank, but at the cost of slightly lower par values, and more space required above the tank to hang the fixture. I guess it depends on what you keep in the tank, and what your setup is.

For reference, I use these fixtures over both of our coral stock tanks. I have one fixture over a 40g stock tank (28" x 30") about 18" above the water, with no other supplemental lighting. I also run one fixture over a 60g stock tank (31" x 52") about 18" above the water, however it requires 2 additional PAR38 bulbs on the left and right to evenly cover the whole tank.

So, I would say you would probably be ok with one, however if you are looking for something that may fit a bit better, we can special order a slightly longer 24" long 165w model. I would cost more though. If you are interested, let me know and I can get you specific pricing info.

I have a good amount of customers using these fixtures over various 30g tanks. That's one of the great things about these fixtures is they are fully dimmable, so you can adapt them to whatever size tank you want and if you decide to upgrade to a larger tank, your fixture would still work for it!
