24 gallon nano finally back up!

So...received the new sump Friday - Thanks again to Tom Latham! - and I got all the plumbing redone and it all assembled yesterday. For the week I did not have the sump I kept the 30 lbs of live rock in the tank with enough water to cover it all and 2 pumps circulating the 78deg water. I tested the ammonia yesterday and is was .2. Today I tested Ammonia (.4), Nitrite (.2) and Nitrate (0). Not sure what type/timing of a cycle I will have. I did have some brown algae start growing on the rocks during the week the tank was not fully assembled/running.

Here are some pics...it is the 24 gallon JBJ Nano with the 13 LED hood. The lighting from what I have figured is 5 white 10k and 8 blue 20k...2 of which are the 'night' lights. I have a Hydor Slim Skim in the sump and have a piece of live rock and added some chaeto to the refugium today. The return pump is a Rio 1400 and there is a 2nd pump in the 3rd chamber - a Danner SP-400 - just adding more flow thru the original nozzle. Previous owner had a UV unit in there. Have two Finnex 100w Titanium heaters - one in the sump and one in the 1st chamber - that will be hooked up to a ReefKeeper Lite Basic that arrived today.

So...not sure when I will be adding the first live thing - other than the rock!

Thanks for the comments everyone! Now just have to be patient with the water changes to get my elements in-line. Just a matter of time...I don't think anyone out there has ever mentioned that this hobby requires patience...:smile (2):

I am planning a reef. The clowns will most likely be the only fish in the tank...although I do have my eye on a dwarf angel...just giving time for the tank to mature and make sure all the levels come up (Mag, Calcium) to support the reef inhabitants!

24g JBJ is too small for a dwarf angel IMO. These guys need at least a 36in long tank. They like to cruise around.

I will try and post more pics...I have added a Neon Dottyback as my final fish - picked up at AquaPros. I was hoping my clowns would host in the awesome fuzzy mushroom I got from Dansreef but alas! The Dottyback has taken it as his place to hang out! So I am sure the clowns will not be allowed anywhere near it even if they wanted!

So the tank houses:
5 small hermits
Skunk Cleaner shrimp
White porclain crab
2 Booyah clowns
Neon Dottyback
Fuzzy Mushroom
Neon Hammer
Neon Candy Can
Devils Claw/Paw - boy did this thing scare us. Went thru a 'shedding' process - thought it was dead!
Red Monti Cap
Spongodes
Ponape
Green Slimer
