240 watt LED project build using 10w chips

What kind of LEDs do you plan on going with? Cree or cheaper 3w LEDs

would like to go cree but as far as price i think im gunna go with bridgelux but i have been seeing epistar leds was thinkin bout tryin them out but dont want to gamble with this wanna put it together and be done

Just added 25x 3w cool white chips. Just waiting on some red leds then I will add the last red and green LEDs to the build. Saying that I think this is the last time I will be using 3w LEDs, don't get me wrong they are awesome, but installing them is a different story. So many drill holes needed, and had to go out and buy nylon washers to isolate the screws from touching the terminals on the LEDs. If I make any other build, they will be with 10w or higher chips, or using different aluminum star boards that the 3w LEDs are on.

Also looking to add more 10w royal blue chips to where ever I can.

Everything worked great though and have not had any issue so far. Very happy with the build at this point.

Alright got almost all the LEDs up and running. Looking on putting some more 10w blue chips somewhere on the build maybe 4 more.
also need to setup the LED controller to my needs I have 8 LED channels and have 6 controllable channels on the controller, so I am thinking of combining 2 of the 4x 10w blue channels together and 2 of the 12x 3 channel cool whites together. I am really happy adding the green and red LEDs with just 5 3w green and 5 3w red when its on with just cool whites, the color gives me a warm white.

Probably in the near future I will order another 48v power supply just to lessen the load on just one, ultimately to have them last as long as the LEDs do

All LEDs at 60%

I am not a LED expert by any means--but I have heard different opinions about too many Red's----and a few people told me to take mine out of my set up. Looks real good though-nice work.

I have heard that red LEDs cause algae problems, but in other sources say no algae issues I will continue reading up on it.

thanks!
