27 cube build

as far as the rim goes ive never done one on a tank like yours , but i did a 29 biocube and even tho a bit of a pain it was possible and never a issue . down side is somethimes the edges of the glass isnt pretty and can be a eyesore . def do some research on that before you start to pull it off and see dont wanna ruin the tank . also if you can do halides and not worry about the heat issue i say halides all day with a supplement light if not built in already t5.led.. also what direction are you going with this tank ? sps, softie, lps , or a mixed reef ?
 
Yeah I'm not De rimming. Researched all night and didn't like what I was finding. Slightly mixed. Mainly softies with a very few sps and lps
 
Oh and will the 250 ballast work on the hqi? I know I won't have the option to dim the halides but I have 2 hqi and 2 ref 250w but I like the hqi better but I have a bad ballast. Just hoping I can use the 250 ballast until I can get another hqi ballast
