40 breeder and 30 gallon Deep Blue build

Hi everyone. I just recently joined Chicago Reefs and I have met a lot of nice and intelligent new people. So I'm happy to show everyone my new build.

My build is going to be very similar to Anarchy's dual display build. 2 displays sharing one sump. However I'm going to be using a 40 breeder instead of his 27 cube.

The Equipment:
40 breeder drilled with Glass - holes 700gph overflow.

I'm using a 36" 4 bulb T5 fixture with ATI bulbs. ( unsure of which ones )
For additional light I'm going to be using 2 36" ecoxotic stunner strips. This will be for the 40.

For the 30. I have a 20" 6 bulb nova extreme T5 unit. For additional light I will be using 4-5 ecoxotic Panorama Pro modules.

For flow I have 2 RW4 for the 40 Breeder.
And 2 wp10 for the 30

Skimmer will be an Eshopps 150 Snowcone.

Heaters will be 1 200 watt aqueon pro and 1 100 watt aqueon pro.

Return pumps are undecided.

Stand will be built by me and my dad as we are getting materials tonight. We are also making custom canopy for lights.

Sump/Refugium
The sumps are 1 30" 20 gallon long for a refugium and 1 24" acrylic sump for skimmer and biopellet reactor.

I have collected everything so far except the overflow box and the stand and canopy.

Stocking Plans.
The 40 Breeder:
2 clowns (undecided on what kind)
1 Coris Wrasse
Some type of blenny.

30 gallon Deep Blue.
Some type of Wrasse 6 line or Coris
Small yellow tang. Once it gets too big it will go in my 125

Corals- mostly sps on 40 breeder and some nice LPS and Zoas.
The 30 will be a frag tank so whatever goes in there.

Thats about all I can think of. Lemme know if you have any suggestions or concerns. I will post pics when I'm closer to getting everything set up. Thanks for reading.

I run the dc3000 for my return. Got between 237-793. If you want more flow the dc6000 puts out 476-1585 lol

I was thinking about getting the dc6000. I put a lot in and I have some spare returns thay I think I'll use. It will be something I will definitely upgrade to.

Yeah I think I'll be upgrading my return soon also but I have to say I've really like the jebao products so far
You may also want to think about 1 rw8 and 1 rw4 in the 40. I've got great flow in the 30 with 2 rw4s but I think the sps would like it better with 1 rw8 and 1 rw4.
My rw4s are about 2 lights from maxed out

Damn I wish I would've gotten like 4 rw8 cause I have all sizes too big or small. Well see how they work and then I'll make my decisions.

Let the build begin! Stand is being started today and all materials have been collected. Forgot to mention I will be using the tunze 3152 and my auto top off.

This is one of the pics of the stand being built. The frame of the stand is now done and tommorow we will cover the sides with plywood.

I'd put a 2x4 on the front like the ones going up and down on the back. Just to help hold the load towards the front. That's just my .02

This was before I did that. The stand is complete I'll show a pic of the finished product.

Agreed. Looks good though

Lol I'm looking forward to seeing how yours looks compared to mine. I may like the breeder better than the cube. Lol I'm pretty excited about this build

I have made the decision to use my 29g instead of the long because I wanted the two tanks to drain into the fuge and the fuge drain into the sump. The only way to drain the fuge is to have the fuge be taller than the sump
