40Breeder build

Peter, I have some extra locline fittings you're entitled to, if you want. I can't remember what size they are, but they're either 1/2 or 3/4. I can give them to you over the weekend or whenever we meet up! Nice looking tank, and this is going to be a sweet build. Having a 40 gallon clinches that. :D

thanks ben, hopefully i can make it out by you saturday the 26th if your not busy.

Want to meet at a store in Elk Grove at 4:30/5:00ish? I can probably make it a bit more South if you need me too. :)

hopefully i can start building the stand and canopy this weekend.
might pick up a reefoctopus NWB in-sump skimmer depending on if my coralife aqualight pro sells on saturady.
then that just leaves me to getting a returnpump.
still need to take the t5s apart so i can just mount the reflectors and bulbs in the canopy once its built.

the list of things that still need to be bought
-skimmer
-return pump
-4 t5ho bulbs (still undecided on the type of ati bulbs to go with)
-a few more pieces of Live rock

also had an idea but not sure if it would work. has anyone ever taken off the top brace and then made some sort of eurobrace or left it rimless on a 40B?
Another question I have a coralife turbo twist 9watt uv sterilizer. Should I run it on the 40B?

Put some sealant on those wires and that pump will be fine. I have the same issue on a rio 2100. I use it all the time to pump water from reservoirs and no stray voltage. Just saying buy that last. Eurobracing with glass would work and be pretty simple but not rimless. Make sure you get the edges of the glass polished. BTW the 14 is up and running I will post some pictures here. I made a cool light holder for my tablet. Later and good luck with the build.

would a SWC Xtreme 180 Cone Protein Skimmer be too much for the 40breeder. because i can pick one up for a really good price used.

Well you cant really overskim but it is quite large for the tank. A swc 120 or 160 is more commonly found under 40 breeders.
