40g Half Cylinder

That's true, joe. I'll try to cut that knob off and put it a bit lower, but as you pointed out before the shape of the tank makes it hard to find a spot. Maybe I'll see if I can put that little wave maker in instead, though I really like the controlled one. I couldn't find one smaller, do they exist?

Yea they make a size smaller believe yours is a wp8 they make a wp4 . U can buy a adjustable power supply believe people used those to tone it down a bit. But less flow may bring back that green slime alage so its a pia to get the balance right . Try dropping it and dif spot first

Moved it down to the bottom of the tank and it's clearly happier but the plate coral seems to be scooting closer and sort of reaching for it should I be worried?

Thanks R, I scooted it over a skosh and it seems to have settled down. Froggy definitely likes being down there, 3x more extended than it was yesterday.

Happy to hear it's doing better. Keep an eye in the plate. Especially at night. They may have longer stinger that comes out.

And apparently they scoot . Do they really move on there own never kept one alive long enough to notice lol

Yeah it doesn't scoot a lot but it opens itself up big then closes up sort of in the direction of the scoot, like an inchworm kinda. But it's really a tiny amount of lateral movement. Mostly it was close enough to start reaching for the frowspawn by expanding that side of it and extending its tentacles (or whatever those things are). It seems less aggressive now and i just moved it maybe 2" away. It's a pretty interesting critter. I love to watch it eat. When I put the food on it, it cups itself up to help all the food get down to its mouth, then opens up real wide to get the food in. It must create a suction or perhaps it has tiny filaments that move the food along. When I had the ribbon eel occasionally pretty large pieces of silversides would fall on it and it would just gobble them up. I'm hoping if I keep it happily fed it won't be inclined to sting its neighbors.

They sting because they want their space. Just keep an eye on it
I feeding time, love how they open up and then close into a bubble while ingesting their meal.

Very curious about this. I was feeding coral frenzy.

Also, update on the mini-cycle I think I am going through, algae bloom isn't too bad but I am seeing an increase in that brown slimy kind. Is there any better way to get rid of it than just trying to suction it out?
