Hi Everyone!

Just joined ChicagoReefs so I thought I would say Hello and share pictures of my reef. This "main" tank is 650G (130''x36''x32) and I am in the process of populating a 400G reef right next to it. The attached pictures are just of the 650. The tank is only two years old so if you give it another 24 months, I'm hoping it will look a lot better. I'm browsing all the tanks on this site and they are amazing! I'm looking forward to meeting you all...virtually.

Thanks! This was an especially exciting month for the tank because some of the coral were spawning. The pocillopora was the most recent and I am getting little coral heads popping up all over the reef in random places. Mother colony and coral heads are below... Thats what I love about our hobby...always excitement!

Wow. Awesome and huge! Watch out for that pocillipora. Mine spawned too and I had little pieces growing in quite a few places. It became a pest. I put kalk paste one the spawns to kill them. If you like it, let it breed!

Nice! and welcome. crazy equipment list. I don't even want to know what your electric bill is :)
I love big tanks, the stability it gives you is awesome for the SPS. Is it Peninsula style?

Awesome Tank Dan! :welcome2:

+1, darn thing breeds like rabbits. I've resorted to covering the new colonies in super glue until they die. The coral is quite strong and will kill many monti, acro and even some lps with it's sweepers. Just cutting the new colonies off at the base always leaves some polyps alive that rebuild it.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about your tanks and experience. You don't look like you are new to the hobby :)
