SO my wife and I recently bought a house together in the burbs, she knew I wanted to upgrade the reef tank with the move. When we moved in she said to me "you should put a tank there.. One in the wall.. and you can have your fish-room on the other side" Stop her there and and said done! Taped it out and the work began.

Sweet wife. Ha.
Looks like it's going to be a nice upgrade. Keep us updated.
Where in the burbs did you move to?

Yeah, she's pretty awesome. Moved to Buffalo Grove from the NWS of the city. Very different life out here, in a good way.

Oh man in wall tank. Looking good man

I love the in wall. It has its challenges though.. i.e. Not being able see to what your doing when setting up rock. I machined a look down with some ploy carb and pvc, which helps a lot.

Something Blue! haha
Not sure if you can tell from the pic, the two bottom center bulkheads are T'd off inside the tank, directing flow from the corner and center (part of the CL).

Here's my lighting. little tricky with the wall tank as some of the tank depth is taken up with the wall it's self. Three 250w 20K Radium's with covered Luminarc reflectors, two VHO T5's(ATI actinic and purple plus), and a ReefBrite Tech - blue. should grow something..

oh snaps this is going to be an awesome display. Surprised your still going to blast it with MH. Planning on SPS or mixed reef?

Thanks.

It seemed like every time I saw some Bad A** coral it was grown under MH. That's why I went that route. Not saying it's the only way.

Looking to do a mixed, but mostly SPS is the game plan.

This thing is gonna be bad azz . I think those lights are the best for sticks created to much heat for my living room but in a basement they will be great.

Been pretty busy at home. But finally got some rework done on the plumbing. Originally I had 1” draining into the sump. Water was too fast creating too much bubbles and salt creep for my taste.

Decided to put in a 3” pipe and T’d it off. Pretty happy, much quieter with less micro bubbles.
