Gunna get new 4s. Should I get the apple care warranty? Had it with my 3gs and haven't used it. Should I not get it and just get a good case?

you have one year from the day of purchase to go an purchase the applecare. i have a macbook and actually purchased the applecare the last day i possibly could. gives you time to decide.

Got phone at target and they actually say get it now or can't get it added down the line. Chose not to get it and got the super duty case

The best thing about these cases is they are not bulky like the otter boxes. I have been a Android guy for 6-7 years and if they dont start making cases like these for droids I will probably be switching to the dark side.

Wait 5 weeks and buy the new iPhone when it comes out. And nay to AppleCare on iPhone, not worth it, and IME the Apple Store at Woodfield Mall is more than happy to help you out with any issues you have. They have even replaced headphones for me well outside warranty without any questions.

EDIT: OOPS just saw you already got the phone. I would seriously consider returning it (you have 30 days "No Questions Asked" return period) and waiting for the new one.

This is true on Mac products, iOS products require AppleCare at the time of purchase.

I think I might take it back. I'll hold onto it, very carefully, for a week or two. Then listen to the rumors and planned release. Then return it to exchange for the new one.

Do you have a Samsung? Apple won the lawsuit and now Samsung owes apple $5B. Now that they won the lawsuit the have files another one to get the court to stop Samsung from selling any products that they stole patents from apple to make. Soon no more Samsung phones that rip off the iPhone. LONG LIVE APPLE lol :)

I cant believe apple is changing there connection cord for the new phone. I wouldn't be happy if I had a bose dock or bought the radio for my boat that it goes in like a cd use too.

I doubt it will be that easy, I don't believe Target will be able to do a direct swap for you on the return for the new one. You will likely NEED to order the new one online as an upgrade or new line for service on the first day it goes up for sale and wait a week for it to deliver on the day it actually goes on sale in the stores. To do this you need to be eligible for an upgrade on your line. Will be easiest on yourself to return sooner than later to avoid any issues later. Its a lot of BS hoops and crap to jump thru, I know, I been thru it way too much. Fiancee took my old iPhone when I upgraded, she activated a NEW line with my OLD phone. The Dbag at the store activated the line with a 24 month contract, yet told us she would get the discounted price and a contract when she was ready to buy a new phone. Seriously took me over a month back and forth with customer service to set everything right, and we still even had trouble in-store when we finally had it all straightened out and went to go get the new one!

Either way, right now is the worst time of year to be buying new Apple iPhones and iPods, as the fall announcements are only weeks away.

Anyone know what's better and upgraded about the iPhone 5? I just switched from the 3GS to this 4s and you know I'm super excited cause it's way better then what I had. I love Siri and I told her that but I think she said it was impossible. :(

No one "knows" anything until the phone is released, but history has proven this will be a major redesign year, and next year will be an incremental "s" model.

True. Is this the first one that jobs hands werent on or do you think this was in the works before he stepped out an died.

Speculation is that Jobs laid out a 4 year product roadmap for the company before he passed away. Whether the company follows that or not is a whole different story.

No kidding most of our A/V gear around the house is set with that 30 pin connector and now the go and change it!! I send over $400 for my Bose portable speaker and now I am not sure if I will be able to use it! SUXS!

The only advantage I see with the change is a higher data transfer rate!! I am still rocking the 3GS 16G running the updated iOS. The iPhone 4 and 4S where a complete waste of space I am glad I never rushed out and bought them.

The 4/4s are awesome phones, Isaac just has iPhone envy cuz his wife wouldn't authorize him to upgrade.... ;-)
