Has anyone been to Aqua Pros in Glen Ellyn? I didn't even know it existed, until someone I know told me they went there. I think I might go check it out this weekend, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience there.

Take a camera and get some pictures and pricing and a writeup on what you think would be great.

I love Aquapros! He has some really nice stuff at great prices. You can check them out on facebook. We use to stop by at least twice a month before we ran out of space in our tanks. Once we finish the upgrade I will def. be back for corals and fish.

i would say that isn't at all necessary.
his livestock very quickly changes as is smaller in size then most others. Also his store isn't anything too special to look at (not in a bad way) .

but his (david's) livestock is always in great shape, healthy and colorful and his prices cannot be matched anywhere not online.

he's also just a really nice, almost shy, guy to talk to while you browse.

IMO its my favorite LSP to buy from, but not the best to go just to see amazing display tanks.

Good job painting the picture of what the business is like.

I might have to go check it out.

Anything particular he specializes in carrying?

amazing prices!

i haven't been there in a couple weeks but he had:
an entire tank of frogspawns and torches, both colonies and single heads.
he has lots of small mushroom frags, a couple good sized toadstools (i bought 1 of them), usually lots of zoa frags. and last i knew he is setting up a SPS frag tank that looks pretty good so far. he also had to tear down his display due to him getting in some really big fish

though if you post on the shops facebook page, he will usually try and put in a specific order for ya.

I went and checked out this place in person today. And the reviews from others is pretty spot on. It's not much to look at. Pretty much just a 10ft x 15ft back room in a building, filled with tanks. However, lots of nice corals, very reasonable prices, and David is a super nice guy. And yes, he will get basically whatever you want if he doesn't have it. I highly recommend it.

Aquapros is definatly worth the trip. Dave is a great guy and takes care of you. Cant beat his prices! Ive bought plenty from his shop and and have always been happy! Just stopped in there on Sat and picked up a few beautiful chalices.

I've been there a few times. His store is not big, but he maintains a nice collection of corals, priced right. Not to many fish, although he does have some. He's friendly and maybe shy and he knows his stuff. I would highly recommend a visit to AquaPros.

Made my first visit to aquapros in glen ellyn yesterday...and bought way too much today! Didn't have enough cash on me the first time since i wanted to buy so much (no debit/credit, so come prepared). I think the picture was painted well when i was skimming the prior posts, cozy inside, but great prices. I prefer the small size since i could ask all of my beginner questions and David was extremely helpful. Ended up buying more than i expected since i love great customer service which is rare these days. Ended up grabbing a new mini-pump for my skimmer, a koralia nano powerhead, mag-cleaner, and then 2 corals i couldn't pass up: a torch and a very cool blue alveopora. Large frags and great prices! Will definitely be going back. I'll post pics of them once they open up. Not hard to find after the first time, just park behind the fire station and you're right there.

Just wanted to add that Dave is an excellent guy and will take good care of you. And i have yet to see anyone beat his prices.

+1. Got a frag of chalice and a leopard wrasse from him. Both doing really well.
