BennyBlanco's 65gallon reef

Hi Everyone! Things have been super hectic with the new baby coming in a couple of months! The honey-do list is extensive! Here are few quick pics of the tank and a few of our new fish. We added a Midas Blenny, Possum Wrasse, orange-line cardinal, and a RBTA. I hope everyone is well!

Nice additions Brett. Your tank is looking fantastic.

Thanks! I'll post some pics of my new clam, setosa, and hammer that I picked up yesterday.

On a side note, I could definitely use some help with my photography skills if you ever have any extra time! I could trade you a frag for a quick lesson!

Are you doing anything special to keep your colors so bright ! .. bio pellets or some secret formula ? Beautiful tank

To be honest...I keep it as simple as possible. I use an ATO with Kawk for top-offs, Tek T5 6x39wt lights, and a Vertex Skimmer. I don't dose anything extra (except I dosed a little alk once when my level was dropping) or use any other reactors. I do try to do a 10% water change every 7-14 days. That's really all I do.

Thanks! I pretty much started this whole tank with frags. I usually try to find frags that are starting to branch out or are already encrusted.

Hi - I took a few updated pictures of the tank tonight. My mandarin was totally out and about tonight hamming it up! I also took a ton of pics trying to get a good snap shot my new Booyah's Buckshot Black Ice clowns. They're incredible but they just wont stay still long enough for me to get some perfect pics of them. I LOVE these guys! Mitch was super helpful and has some amazing clowns! I wish I could have more!

Also, is there any way to move this thread to member's tank section?

wow... great tank. it looks amazing. sometimes it makes me wonder.. why do i want bigger bigGER BIGGER.... it will only take 3x more $ and time to fill it up! i like that THIS can be achieved.
This is proof that you don't need 30 things dosed and 2 k in extra equipment to keep a great tank. it just shows that it can be done with less. (shhhh don't tell my wife! ) i hope one day to see mine half full.. i can't wait.

great job!!!

Thank you! I definitely take a simple approach and that has worked well for me so far. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite me! I did space it on St. Patricks day when it was in the 80's by leaving the windows open in the house and had a big temp spike. I lost a bunch of SPS but it gave me a chance to clear some space, add some rock, and get some new corals. I can't wait until it all fills in again!

Hi Everyone!
Sorry that I haven't been around too much lately. (I'm sure no one really missed me anyways!) We've been busy with our new little baby girl! This is Harley June! I can't wait until the first time she sees the reef tank!
