Brs high capacity gfo

Sorry for continuing the OT, but I thought BioPellets were for Nitrates and GFO was for Phosphates?

They supposedly reduce both, but I've never had luck with pellets bringing my phosphates to acceptable levels. I consider my pellets for nitrates and my gfo for phos.

from the manufacturer's website:

NPX Bioplastics®
NPX Bioplastics® granular media made from biodegradable polymers. For use in a fluidized reactor. The slow release of organic food from these plastics promotes the development of bacteria that assimilate nitrate and phosphate. These bacteria can be harvested by protein skimmers, so that the nitrate and phosphate levels are naturally reduced. The bacteria are also a food source for filter-feeding invertebrates such as corals, clams, sponges, and feather dusters.

been working for me so far :)

You may want to try the brs dual reactor. It has the gfo and carbon in one, but the gfo is in the first chamber so anything leaking through is caught by the carbon reactor.
