bulkhead wrench

I'm setting up my tank after a move. I've got a 1 1/2" bulkhead that I just can't get snugged down. Does anyone have a wrench for this, or know where I can find 1?

Yep, channel lock pliers. You can get them at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. If you have previously used this bulkhead and you truly can't get it snug just by hand, I would be a bit concerned and consider buying a new one. They should always be able to be tightened pretty good by hand. I usually tighten it by hand, and at most 1/4 additional turn with the pliers. The gasket should do most of the work.

You shouldn't need one. If you do, either you need a new gasket, or bulkhead entirely. Tightening a bulkhead tighter then hand tight is a no no.

Do you have the gasket on the nut or the flange side?

if its too slim to fit channel locks (been there) geo makes a bulkhead wrench out of acrylic which you can find in his ebay store.

we use a AN fitting wrench ,does a great job ..as said may wanna check the gasket

Gasket is on the flange side. Im thinking the gasket is a bit firmer then most. Kinda rubbery instead if the softer silicone feeling ones. Anywhere around to get new gaskets?
