Can it be done!?

5 Yellows and 1 purple on a tank that size should be doable. Two purples? You have a 50% chance of that working out on a tank that's less than 8'.

If u go to underwater world yhey have two purples in a 90 gallon but yea its super rare they get along and yellows haveing same body shspe gonna be tough but maybe if added all at once

One of our customers has that in 150g, but he also has a top shelf equipment on it.

Dont c how equipmeht make a difference in it. Biggest problem be fightning not pooping not saying wont be issue just not biggest issue lol

How about introducing everyone all at once? This will be a crazy move to have that many, but will be an amazing tank with these tangs.. Good luck!!

I would add them all at once and I would get the smallest ones I could possibly find. I think im gonna go for it but maybe 1 purple tang, my tank is pretty wide and my rock work is very fish friendly. lots of places to run. its funny the different replies i got between RC and CR. everyone on RC says no basically. I feed my fish like crazy so theres no competition for food IMO.

lol the way i see it is that if you already have your mind set on getting them, then everyone saying no won't change your decision.

No offense, but you didn't tell the people here about the 4 other tangs you already added in the last week like you did on RC. Probably why your getting different answers.

If it were me, I would just get different tangs anyway.
Unless its a huge tank (1000g+) or they have a reason to school (threat), tangs usually do not school in our tanks like they do in the wild. They will likely school for the first couple weeks, but once they realize there is nothing to fear, they will start doing their own thing and may even get territorial with each other.

Obviously, there are always exceptions.

Anything CAN be done. The question you should ask is: SHOULD it be done?
When it comes to the amount of tangs in a tank, there is the right thing to do, and what you can get away with. Tangs have and can live long lives in nano-cubes. That does not make it right. Do not do the wrong thing until a living animal dies to decide: oops I guess that was too many.

**** I probably should have mentioned what I already have in the tank. 2- yellow belly hippos "quarter size" 1- Blue Hippo "quarter size" 1- juvenile chevron and one large Achilles. 4- clowns and a 6 line.
