ChicagoReefs.com Summer 2012 Palythoa Grow-Out Contest

When will there be a set amount for the payout? I'm interested but would like to know first. It looks like it's going to be a good one!

Payout will not be a set number until the contest starts, the sponsor credit will be $10/participant, payout for 1st, 2nd & 3rd will be 3/6, 2/6 and 1/6 of the total credit pool. $5 per participant goes back into prizes for winners and random giveaways during the contest. The official payout and prizes will be updated on the 1st when the contest starts. Trust me, there is going to be a LOT more incentive to participate and remain active in this growout.

The remaining entry fee goes back into paying off the polyps and supplies for the growout.
Money collected from selling frags of the spring growout will be used for the prizes during the contest.

Hope that helps.

I guess you could get an answer based on how many entries we have now...George, we needs numbers! :)

So would one be out of tjos competition if the mai polyp melted but the new one didnt o dont know if its possible but if its still on the plug its still good right ???

Just a quick reminder that the growout officially starts tomorrow. Only a few people left on the RSVP list that have not paid. Anyone that does not get their payment in by the end of the night will be removed from the list to clean it up. If anyone still wants to participate after tomorrow, they are still welcome to join late, but may miss out on any potential giveaways that could start as early as tomorrow (hint...)

If we already posted our tank and starting pictures, there is nothing at this point we need to do right?

Holy moley, that's tough to decipher...but what he is asking is, if your original polyp melted but new ones were fine, are you out of competition. I'm guessing it doesn't matter as long as it's still on the original plug and somehow you're able to grow polyps like crazy that losing the main one doesn't affect your count.

George, total polyp count only right, not necessarily the original?
