This is my favorite because it's different and the colors are sweet. I could also picture a black and white one.

That is legit. No problems there.

I normally wouldn't say anything, but the NFL is known to be quite aggressive with enforcement and trademarks, and they have obvious persuasion over teams.

Your telling me the NFL owns all orange Cs with a pointy left side? What about all the folks who paint themselves with logos at games? Can the NFL sue them? When does intellectual property law supersede the first amendment? Not that I doubt your expertise (certainly not my field), but I was always thought someone could only sue for copyright/trademark infringement if a profit was made from the infringement.
Anyway, someone put a little fish tail on the C instead of just the point and we'll be all set.

(Still sort of leaning toward the Chicago flag anyway but I do agree that the order of the stars could change to correct the visual impression they are degrading from left to right)

No Herbie. The C used in that image is used for a sports team, which is not a universal letter. Also profit does not need to be made, but truth be told, these shirts are being sold. Therefore, based on your argument you would still be in violation of the DMCA of 1998. Feel free to look it up, but even a modification of copyrighted material can't be used until a "rule of reason" is implied. Meaning, unless it is modified so much, it could not be used. "Legally anyway" There are more acts and laws other then the DMCA that manage intellectual property. The first amendment can't be used as a defense normally unless you are not doing ANY of the following.

1) Possibly confusing the public.
2) Monetizing the copyright.
3) Using the copyright in bad faith.

Choose whatever logo you wish. I'll stay out of it from this point forward, my previous statement want not to cause any type of argument but to merely point out the possible problem.

Not at all Gary. I appreciate the education. Your information might very well save our reef from trouble. Whether or not these are technically being sold isn't an argument I want to have with the lawyers for the NFL. :D
 
The flag is I think the favorite, but I think the stars are perfect. It moves the eyes. More artistic than aesthetically pleasing. Makes you look at both boobs too ;)

Sorry, wife is a photographer, so I hear all this about negative space and visual movement, lol.
