Question for people that might know something about wrasses. Will they hide for the first 2-3 days in a new tank. I just picked up this black Leopard and it was swimming around fine and when the lights went off it went and hid and I haven't seen it for 2 days now. I don't think it has jumped because I looked all around the tank and couldn't find it.

I don't know much about fish but I was researching leopard wrasses and I read they will hide for days when first introduced to a new tank. So I'm guessing he's still hiding

I'm hoping so. lol It is a really cool looking wrasse and one of my favorites. I have a royal dottyback and it was picking on it a little when I first put it in so I hope that will stop. Any idea how to catch that little bastard dottyback? I don't really want it anymore. haha

It depends on the fish. My cosmetus was out and about right after introducing it to the tank. My mckoskers on the other hand dove staight for the rocks, only to show up a few hours later.

If you dont see it within a week, then i think theres a problem.

its not unheard of for a wrasse to stay hidden for a few days. My hoevens stayed hidden for 5 days then decided to join the party. But my checkered never hid. I wouldnt sweat it. He will turn up eventually.

So the wrasse turned up last night for a few minutes before I saw him bury himself in the sand again. Glad to see he hadn't tried surfing.

I also just added some pictures in the setup and equipment page about the ato and thought I should add them to my build as well. I love this ato. I'm glad I held off on pulling the trigger on one for a while peruse I would have never found out about this one until it was too late.
