Oh you've touched one of my other passions. BEER!

To sample lots of different brews try going to some beerfests. NOT ALL ARE CREATED EQUAL!!!!! I travel around the country going to beerfests. A huge fun time! My personal favorite fest is The Great Taste of the Midwest in Madison Wisconsin. Always the second Saturday in August. Tix are a pain to get, but somehow I always get some.
For other beer info. there are many decent sites. www.beeradvocate.com. www.realbeer.com. www.pubcrawler.com.

Part of my passion is also collecting US micro brewery pint glasses. I have a rather large collection of them that is actually worth more money than my reef system. YIKES!

Try these:
Goose Island "Matilda" Belgian Style Pale Ale
Firestone "Double Jack" IPA
Two Brothers "Cane & Ebel" Red rye ale
Samuel Smith's "Oatmeal Stout"
Two Brothers "Resistance" IPA

A few to get you started.

Yes!!! The 90 is almost always available. The 120 is only brewed a few times a year. I've got a bottle stashed away...

Ages well on the shelf for up to two years. APV 15-20%.

Mmmm I'm going to try all these. Been on a " try all new beer " spree lol. Sick of drinking the same things when there's so much out there to try !

Tried quite a few Two Brothers, liked all of them.

If anyone is ever up (or down) (or over) this way, there are a couple good micro brewery/restaurants...

The Lucky Monk in South Barrington, all their beers are fantastic, and they have a huge selection of other craft beers. Food is phenomenal too!

Emmet's pub in West Dundee, they have some pretty nice beers as well as great food. I think they have multiple locations.

In Chicago, I think it's Red Star Tavern? Excellent beer and food.

been spending so much money on craft beer at Binny's decided to stick to what Costco offers....usually 4x 6pack variety of Two Brothers + some other variety pack...

for what it is...the Costco brand of craft beer is actually decent and cheap

That's the Two Brothers pack that I got. Good stuff, and cheap!

rogue old crustacean if you can find it, barleywines in general have a special place in my heart. Other than that hopzilla if you can find it and like IBU's. if you like belgians mcschoof is a must.

You guys probably dont get alot of new holland here but both dragons milk and pilgrims dole are good seasonals from them. Mad hatter is a great ipa, I generally love everything that comes out of new holland.

I'm so glad that the Two Brothers Brewing Co purchased the Roundhouse here in Aurora. Usually at least 8 of their brews on tap and a few others you can't get in stores are available for purchase. I love taking home a growler of freshly brewed beer. And the food there is awesome too. If anyone is interested in meeting up there on a Sunday let me know. I held the Aurora Area Reefers Club's first meet there. Maybe I'll post on having a second meet there if any of you are interested. Could head over to RW after maybe. Let me know who is down and I'll set it up.

I love beer, I've just never gone to your guys extent. I'm all about the trying new beer as well. Where do you guys get all this special brews and stuff and how do you know they are "special" brews.

Go to Binny's beverage depot. They have an immense amount of beers. Nothing super special about any of them... Just try, and if you like it try others from that maker, or don't... Be wary of "reviews". I tried what was supposed to be the best beer in the world or something Delirium Tremens... Wasn't impressed, and it was super expensive (got it as a gift though :D)

Try any of the trappist beers... Chimay, Westmalle, Orval, La Trappe, Rochefort

And for something different...
try a saison or farmhouse style beer
Rayon Vert from Green Flash Brewing Company - a Belgian style IPA
Duchesse De Bourgogne and/or Rodenbach - Flanders red ale
