Craft Beer

Try any of the trappist beers... Chimay, Westmalle, Orval, La Trappe, Rochefort

And for something different...
try a saison or farmhouse style beer
Rayon Vert from Green Flash Brewing Company - a Belgian style IPA
Duchesse De Bourgogne and/or Rodenbach - Flanders red ale

Been meaning to try trappist beers...

Craft brew update!
Binny's in Plainfield on 59 has a few cases of Dogfish Head 120! It's only released a few times a year so grab some now. It's pricey but well worth the $9.99 per bottle. Up to 20% APV. Ages well on the shelf for up to two years. I grabbed a four pack. :)

oh dear. If that wasn't so far from me, I would be picking some up. Dogfish Head brews some great beer.

Just had some Hop Stoopid last night. By the middle of the first glass I had no idea how I was to finish, but by the end I was ready for another. Unfortunately it killed my palate for some home brew ipa afterwards and might as well been drinking a BMC. Got shlerenka (sp?) smoke beer and maybe a barley wine for tonight.

Just started brewing a little over a month ago with my father. Our ipa (a BB kit) finished bottle conditioning about a week ago. Bottled a porter the other day, have a Weiss in secondary, and a pilsner in primary. We're looking at building a keggle soon to do some BiaB.

Btw does anyone if refractometers are compatible from salt to sugar gravity? Done some brief, and fruitless, searches on HBT. Gave it a try and it seemed to read high, but did not compare to a hydrometer.

For suggestions I would say Bells Two Hearted and any of their stouts. Two Hearted is my desert island beer. When spring and summer rolls around check out 5 Rabbit and Metropolitan

My every day drinking beer is Lagunita's Little Sumpin Sumpin or Bell's two hearted IPA. Pipeworks brewery is a new Chicago brewery that has been putting out some good beers if you want to try something new.

I normally don't go out for too much beer since I brew my own and usually have 4-5 kegs filled at most times. I have to say its one of the most rewarding hobbies I have started
