So today I went and bought Bobby's tank. Very excited! It's a messy project but I'm looking forward to it. This will end up being set up in my daughters room. Here's some pics

The tank has 2 returns and he said I can plug each pump into this and it will alternate which return is on and which is off. That's neat!

Plenty to get me going. Red sea phosphate test, IO ph test, custom led wand, phosban 550, skimmer for the tank

Nice cleanup ryan... Im thinking you should do a zoa and paly tank. Looks great after all that algae is scraped away!

Thanks Matt! Alota hard work cleaning that has made that a whole new looking tank. Now if only I can get this to look remotely close to yours I'd be happy

Thoughts on this tank
I'm thinking about getting black sand for this tank. The lunar lights really work good in this along with some modded lighting. Maybe the black sand would help make some of the corals that have bright colors really pop? What's you opinion? Good idea, bad idea, or no opinion?

Man good job on the cleaning.. tank looks like its brand new.. Black sand would be awesome. To me i've seen lfs have black sand in there tanks and it looks pretty darn good to me.. it def made the corals pop out more..

just a question.. are you gonna be keeping the stock light or are u gonna change to a different type?

I think in the first post it shows pics of the hoods that can with. One is a pc hood and the other is a mh hood. It currently has one 150w de mh bulb on it which is a Phoenix 14000k with like 10 months of life still left.
It also has a couple of lunar led mods on it too

Got black sand for it. Been thinking how ima set it up. Maybe mushrooms, yumas, rhicordia, and zoas. Just an idea. That's all for now :)

So got the tank running and the tank temp keeps rising. Started at 82ish no up to 87. It has a hood that has a 150w mh in it. So I know that causes heat but will it be so much heat it won't ever come down? Anyone else have this setup? How do you keep temp down?
