Cycling without light?

As I get closer to getting my tank started I am wondering if I can start to cycle my tank without light fixtures? They will be a custom special order from coralcompulsion and may take 3 weeks or so to get after I order them. So if I have everything else but the lights could I begin to cycle my tank?
