DB's 120gal Mixed Reef

Nice additions Dan! Those purple tilefish are really cool. Wish I had room for one.

I actually got my blue midas from AP as well.

I'll have to stop by soon and check out the tanks without the frag racks!

Looking good Dan. But u gotta post a fts!
Thanks Joe - Oops! Meant to put one in - edited/added - obviously looks really blue bc of LEDs w/ cell phone...

I'm Hoping to pick up a 5ft tank soon. You don't see many of them!

Thanks for the inspiration.

Steve, I love the fact thats is an extra foot of swimming space but if I could do it again (and this tank wasnt almost free) I'd do a standard 120g 48x24x24 -The extra 6'' width would have been nice for scaping/more sand bed and since my tank is taller a) lighting is an issue to get good par at the bottom and b) even with me being tall, by entire are up to my shoulder gets wet if I need to reach to the sandbed.

Thanks Dom - Yeah its nice to finally get rid of all the racks - definitely makes the tank look larger and im sure the fish are happy they don't have to swim around them although most of my sandbed is frags now lol.

The tilefish is definitely pretty cool, i like the florescent purple/blue and its a mid-top level fish but holy cow do they like to jump escape!

60x18 is the best dimensions for me. I have 66in on either side of my fireplace (which is 20in deep) so with 2in for plumbing the tank will be the same Depth as the fireplace.

Blue Midas and Purple Tilefish are doing great in holding - Both out and eating Mysis (medicated) and pellets!

(Might want to turn down your volume... had a full band practicing in my living room)

Loving that tilefish and blenny! That and the fact that you have a properly open tank again, lol!

Both the Midas and Tilefish are doing great in the Frag Tank. Both eatting like pigs and out the majority of the time. My tiny female Blue-Star Leopard Wrasse has been in the DT with the big boys for a week now and doing great! Even though she is smaller than my clowns, she's constantly grazing LR and jumps in the fight when the tank in being fed.

I think my tank is starting to get back on track but last week I moved just about my entire Z/P Collection over to my frag tank for safe keeping (took me over 4 hrs). They're not doing great, but some are already showing signs of recovering.

(Crappy picture but under the rack/bottom is pretty full as well as mini-colonies on the LR on either side)

I also hooked up my Phsoban 150 Reactor to help bring down my GFO. Huge thanks to Dre for giving me a hand/advice. Currently starting with a 1/2 cup of GFO and I'll work up from there. Im running it off of an old Aqua-Clear 30 PH (~175gph) which is currently cut back about 1/3 of the way.

I also realized that my new EverGrow LED Units have been running at 'high noon' (50% W // 60% B) for ... ~10+ hrs a day verses ramping up to there ... That, coupled with the fact that I stripped nearly all the nutrients/particles out of the water caused the bleaching phase of my corals. That issue has been corrected, and now set for only a 3-5hr window.

Lastly, I got some amazing pieces in from Travis at PlanetZoa - Definitely a pleasure working with him, and I will definitely be ordering again in the near future!

I decided to purchase a 3-in-1 lens (Olloclip) for my iPhone. Below are some macro iphone pictures no (or vary minimal editing on iphone -no fancy programs) - A pretty good little gadget, the only issue is when shooting macro you have to be with an inch or so of your target meaning I could literally only take a picture of polyps on the first row of eggcrate completely against the glass.

Again, these were all taken with an iPhone ... not a big DSR w/ a big fancy lens - Enjoy! :)

(the main/top head was literally just out of focus/too far away, so I could only get a clear shot of a side baby)

Well, I think the DT is finally starting to get back on the right track...

Phos levels were at 0.33 - after adding a GFO reactor they have dropped to 0.16 and after water change lastnight to 0.14.

I added several z/p frags and they seem to be adjusting well for the most part.

Midas and Purple Tilefish are still in QT/Frag tank - Midas is out all the time and its actually bullying the tilefish (he is always hiding under the racks) w/ visible scales missing but he still comes out to eat. As soon as I make the second screen top for the DT he'll be added and I'll give the tilefish another week or so to recover.

Also added another beauty courtesy of Kratos - roughly a 6in Marine Betta

Love this guy - He's still pretty shy hanging out in caves for the majority of the time but I've gotten him to eat mysis everytime I've fed low enough for him to feel comfortable.

My rainbow bubble-tip decided to be a nem and go for a walk. I've been having issues with one of my PHs so i think the flow changed. He decided to join both RBTAs, and then drop farther below where I can barely see him. For now I'll just leave them all together be since the flow will change again once I add 2 wp25s - Then I'll try blasting him and forcing him to move.
