Dear Old Orchard Aquarium ...

I typically meet at different LFS for trades and purchases. It's somewhere public and safe and since I am there, I can spend the money I just made. It's always a win/win for the LFS and for me.

Only once was I stopped by police because they thought I was involved in a drug transaction. THANKS CECILY and BRANDON!!!

LOL! I've been waiting for this to happen to me!

I agree Walt, if I haven't met you before I like to meet you first in a public place before I let you into my house. That's why our LFS are such a great meeting place for our community. Its a win win for everyone, they just apparently fail to see it that way.

I only have 2 fish still that I originally got from Old Orchard 5 years ago, my pair of clowns that have been through it all, thick and thin. Everyone knows that Old Orchard doesn't hold up to my standards as I've matured through this hobby. I would stop in and get supplies when I needed them in a pinch since they are 5 minutes from my house, or just to stop in to see what they had and chat with the staff. Half are idiots, a few are nice, and a couple only know what they are talking about. I was even thinking about dropping a few hundred dollars at their new plant growing store (next door) on a PAR meter, but after he came outside at us, he ruined that potential sale for himself.

Usually when I met someone at MCF for a coral drop off I take that money sand spend it right back at MCF!

I don't actually have a website, I just participate in the frags.org website which is communal for any hobbyist. Maybe I should start my own... good idea!

Cec and B were frazzled out of their mind. The NARCs hopped out of their cars and bumrushed us with guns drawn. I felt like we were in a 50 cent video.

I stopped in there once and I knew what to expect. I walked out not buying anything. I asked a few questions and the guy that I was speakign with wasn't sure of the answers. I just shrugged my shoulders and daisy and I left.

If you were stealing their business I doubt you would do it in their parking lot. Did he think you were stopping people as they walk in or something. Final nail for me Eric. I've heard nothing but complaints about them and I appreciate this post because it alleviates my curiosity.

Mine too! Thanks for saving me the long trip!

Speaking from the right side of the gun, sorry guys but that is exactly what a frag swap in a parking lot would look like. And yep, we bumrush just in case it really is a drug swap (which is usually accompanied with firearms). Scary for all involved, including the cops.

I completely agree with Eric. What he does outside the store is his business. If I owned a shop and I saw frags changing hands my first thought would be, those people are going to need food and dry goods. I think in this economy and with the number of people selling frags , if you can find a good customer you better treat them like gold! I go almost exclusively to Dave at Aquapros.... I don't know him as a friend but from the first time I contacted him he treated me with respect. He answered my questions and if he didn't have something he offered to get it. That's all I want out of a supplier is someone who values my business :)
