call aquatica and they will tell u how much a true dendro head will cost you....hey fish beard im not argueing but im talking about my dendros......they love the light even tho it says low lighting they love my leds on my tank...

Really, is the post padding necessary to try and prove a point? I still would like to see where you have gotten your information about dendros being photosynthetic when every source will tell you they are not. Without providing this information, I am going to stick with what information I have found that light provides nothing to keep them alive. I am not commenting on whether your dendros like the light or not, im sure they do like the light, the point I am disputing is that you say the light is beneficial, when scientific research has proven otherwise. If you do not provide a food source, a dendro will die, that is my concern, if you believe different then please for the benefit of the entire community provide your source of this information so we are all better informed.

I am still confused, if those are not dendros people are getting at very fair prices from local sellers (the same corals stores sell for much more), then what are they? They sure look like dendros...
 
Lets be careful what we say that may leave some new reefers in the wrong direction or with inaccurate or incomplete information.

There is a difference between a dendro and suncoral. These are different animals with different needs.

I am not going to join the debate about those needs, but simply to point out that if you are an experienced reefer, lets be careful to provide accurate info.
 
mine is open right now i also have sum for sale and if you want more info about dedros go to www.aquacon.com click on lps and you will see for yourself....cuz u got super smart dumb nerds on here who think they kno it all....smmfh...
 
how about i turn my leds on in my tank which shine very bright and my dendros open up happily accepting light AND flow....and food whenever i decide to feed which is once a week for them.....i know what sun corals are and i hate them too hard to deal with......thank you for your input..

Midwest Coral Farms just fragged a bunch of dendros $30 a head! Go buy some! They also have colonies for around $100 I believe!
 
was just at Aquatica and they had singles for $50, one with 2 heads for $100 then colonies for $179 and up

Sounds like a huge rip off to me! MCF has ones with like 5+ heads for right around a hundo! They get ALL of my livestock business!
