Disappointed of my self as reefkeeper

Don't despair, we've all done the same when life gets in the way. You can get it back but you'll have to be patient. It will take 1-2 months. Do 10% water changes 2x a week, pull out what you can manually, increase Mg to 1400-1500, and get a cleanup crew that will get rid of the algae types you have.

Thanks Bryan, I will do that.

Should pick up a few emerald crabs. Mine loves him some algae of all types, that's for sure.
Hey Chris , I have a couple of em but I guess they are just lazy and just wait for the food I drop in, cuz they don't pick on any algae.

That's definitely odd. Mine picks at the rocks all day long. In fact when he gets close to the side of the tank I can hear him scraping the rocks clean with his claws. And he still chows down mysis shrimp like a little piggy when I offer them to him.

Oh nice! I guess I didn't get lucky , don't get me wrong they do go around the rock and pick around with the claws, but they don't really clean much, and I had two of em but right now I can't find em , maybe they are hidden or maybe I lost em already. ..

Toss in some carbon, GFO, do 3 days of darkness method?! It takes time to bounce back so dont stress out. Never too late to start some good habits on maintenance.

Don't feel bad that life got in the way of a hobby! Hell there are plenty of people here that have HA or other algae or loose all of our coral and we are trying with no outside interferences. It will be just fine. Rebuilding can be a fun part of the hobby.

Hey Omar, that's what I did today, I removed the most I could of algae by hand and put some carbon and gfo and water change too . Btw the bta that I got from you it's growing really nice and split already once.

Hey Chad, you are right , I work on it today and it felt good , but it just sucks that I lost mostly of my corals, and since I'm not working it's gonna take me a good while to get it back the way I had it. I forgot to take a pic of how it was with all the algae but this is how it looks now. Kind of exited that I can see the rocks again.

I'm glad the anemone split. My goal is to drive the price of BTA's down!!!:sparta-lol: I recently went through a period of neglect on my tank since I was working full time and going to school full time at the same time, and still am! But I decided to get my $#(t together and start doing water changes etc. convert to sps/lps only, all my shrooms about 15 for $20, I'll let you know if I make it. :mario:

That sounds good , keep me updated and send some pics to see how it looks.

I know how you feel, I am trying to get that back myself! This hobby teaches patience if anything, but it can be very rewarding too.
