Are you saying you can get better prices then Rapid for CREE LED's??? If so I would be interested on some prices.

If you put 24leds without optics you will be in good shape.I ordered myself 36 from satisled.com and use meanwell 48d drivers.

I have 20 3w LED over my 29g BioCube and that has enough PAR at 50% to keep birdsnests on the sand and acros 3"+ up from the bottom. At full power it will bleach out all but the most light demanding corals. You don't need nearly as many watts of power as you think with LED to put together a powerful fixture.

I have them over a 33G Oceanic cube.I tried it with the optics and withgin 3days bleached all my SPS,so i took them off and most everything is coming back.

Is dimmable a neccessity for these reef kits? I'm looking at that website and they have a constant current driver kit. The 8x3watt led kit... for 37 bucks. I'm thinking this would be awesome for my 3gal rimless build... I think that would be more than enough for SPS in a small, shallow tank...

I have 24 Cree LEDs 6" over my 27g cube. With the blues on 9v and the whites on 4.5 I can basically keep sps anywhere in my tank.

That's going to be way too much if it's not dimmable...

The problem with non dimmable is that ur stuck with the color on the tank with the LEDs. With dimmable u can set it to ur liking.
