DIY Refugium with a hamster ball???

I have one 4"-6" in my 55 sitting on the left side and a pump making it rotate. So far so good. Been there for a month or more w/o algae build up or coraline. I'm still collecting pieces to build my sump for my 55 and 40gal breeder.

I've got this one FS for $50:

Ah. man, i just bought one last night on amazon, didn't see this til today, darn. Well I will look at the one I ordered and if I don't like it I will return it. I will send you a private message to see if you still have this one available if I decide to not go with the one I just bought if that's okay? Thanks for the info!

you could just get a critter keeper and drill a bunch of holes in it then mount it on the side of your glass with magnets so the edge stays just above your water line.

This actually touches on an issue I've been thinking about. Would a critter keeper work as an inexpensive acclimation tank to allow your old and new fish to work through their aggression issues before the new fish is put in the display tank?

OR else I could just use http://coralnuggets.com/product_info.php?cPath=130_159&products_id=409

a cheap idea is a plastic soap holder from your local walmart. you can get them for a couple dollars and it is already full of holes. comes with suction cups for mounts, and set it near a pump for flow.... i know you got one but its just a thought

My gf also picked up some plastic baskets with holes on all four sides and bottom at the Dollar Store. (different sizes) Have one in my 25 with chaeto and two mangrove plants and held to the side with a large cleaner magnet.
