do blue legged hermits molt?

idk if its a dead blue legged hermit or just its old shell because i just fount it right now when i was cleaning my glass with the magfloat. :-( tear i hope its not dead. :a33:
 
if you still have the said molt, if the eyes are intact and there, ie black balls, then hes dead. if not, when crabs molt, the eyes stay with them.
 
i dont see any eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay i gotta lok for him now. i hope the others dont mess with him while hes like this i have six of them. they all seem to keep to themselves most the time
 
I picked up 20 blue legged hermits for my tank and they periodically kill each other and take the shell. Survival of the fittest!
 
none of mine have ever killed each other ive always had the same six ive gotten. i also had two nasarius snails and they never killed them for their shells. but is there a difference between the scarlets and blue legged? do they serve the same purpose?
