i carried the water to a fellow reefer to test the tds of the tap water ..

now i dont have a car or a tds meter (till now)

i just ordered a tds meter off of amazon so should be able to check tds next week

Ok check that out if the tds is zero then you may just have really good water pressure or good tap water to start with. As long as you get 0 tds then its a good thing that your rodi is working so quickly. I know you already made your purchase but for others reading this the 5 stage plus rodi from brs is the best value out there. It comes with everything dual tds meter pressure gauge and every different connection you can possibly use. If you can get it during a group buy like I did its $180 with free shipping definitely the way to go. All those extras(pressure gauge, tds meter) will tell you if there is a problem with your unit or when its time to change your filters.

I've been noticing for the last 2 weeks my water pressure has increased and my BRS system is pushing water out like a champ. I'm loving it because instead of a consistant drip, I am now getting a steady stream.

They sent me a Ro membrane housing ... but the new one wont show any difference at all ..


i opened the tap only slightly and im still getting a decent flow off rodi... i dont think thats the problem and i dont think the pressure going into the system is a problem



i called brs guys and they are like its only the pressure thats making the flow more ...


is there a chance that the ro membrane is faulty ??

Give us the TDS before and after the DI, otherwise this will get us nowhere...
 
i live in Lincoln park and get 55psi out of my faucet. not sure if membrane is faulty, but if you can get a pressure gauge to measure the pressure that would definitely help.

ummm what floor do you live on ?? and how do you know the pressure from your faucet ??
 
i live on the 6th floor. i have the 5 stage brs with inline pressure gauge. i have it hooked up to my bathroom faucet. i just did some rodi water and the gauge read 60 psi. the building was built in the late 90's.
 
Ok. Just checked my tds and it's ZERO

My tap water is at 160 so does this mean the pressure from my faucet is off course high ???

Is it ok to run the water at that High pressure or. Would it damage anything ??
 
If your DI resin is good, of course its going to read 0 TDS after the DI. What is your TDS coming out of the RO before it goes into the DI canister?
 
is 160 for the tds or for psi? My BRS unit has the TDS meter monitor the water before and after the DI filter. I get about 2 to 4 going in and 0 coming out as of today.
depending on how high your pressure is, the membranes and filters should be fine. But i would contact BRS and ask what is the limit on them. people would be happy with 50 to 80 psi coming out.
